I remember Clifford telling everyone after Thanksgiving that he cooked a 35lb turkey and boy did we all laugh and joke about that one!I worked on a job back in the early 80s in Newark with him ,but I never worked with him again. I would see him around on other jobs ,or at the hall and he always would say "what,s up bro,how's it goin? He was always smilin and he will be missed greatly.

I lived in New Hyde Park with Clifford, his Mom and Dad (my sister Jo)in the late 60s. He was a lovely looking boy with the most mischievous smile. Very loud (hadn't changed!) very noisy and sometimes quite naughty especially when I did the babysitting. He would grab the remote control, run all over the house, me running after him with a belt screaming, I was never able to catch him! The most lasting image of him for me is seeing him ride buck naked to his Grandmas's on his bike (about a quarter of a mile away, I think he may have been 4 at the time).

Have a wonderful time in Heaven. Grandad Rogers liked a drink so you won't be short of a drinking mate! Rest in Peace Clifford. All our Love Aunt Tina, Dave, Natalie & Sam xx

To our family, and loving friends, we share in your heartfelt emotions and feelings of loss experienced through Clifford's sudden passing. While our geographical location and our personal circumstances prohibit us from being with you Wednesday to celebrate Clifford's life, we will be with you in thought, soul, and spirit.

My dear brother Clifford - Your continued presence in our lives has been hastened, however your free spirit, ability to love, and unending sacrafices for the causes you embraced will forever remain in our memories, as we enduringly reflect upon you in the future. As you begin a new journey, you do so with many who will continue to love you, and hold you close. You will forever be missed, and your short time with us cherrished .

As you always did in life...fly free my brother (safely please), and keep smiling!

Forever and always, and with LOVE,

Your sister, Jeanne Marie (Gigi)xxx and Craig too!

When i heard of Cliff's passing i was saddened, but then a smile came upon me. The reason for this being he ALWAYS put a smile on your face, whether he was right or wrong. God Bless You BROTHERRRRRR! To the Local 164 Brothers, we still can't take the microphone out of the cradle @ a Union meeting because of Cliff. Maybe we should name that rule after Cliff! R.I.P Cliff!!

What can be said in a 1000 characters about a man who was such a character. I don't think there is enough space. But I will try. Clifford was the funniest, honest (well maybe) most kindhearted person I have known. Often misunderstood there is no doubt where his heart was. If you needed him for anything he was there whether on the job or off. Probably at his own expense. He was flamboyant to say the least but always said was others thought but couldn't or wouldn't say. A true brother. He always said no one will care when I'm gone BROTHER!!! I always disagreed and I still do. You will be sorely missed my friend!! Oooooonnnnnn fiiiiiiiiiiirrree!!!!

Our heartfelt sympathy to all the family at Cliff McNeil's sudden passing. His brother, Patrick McGinnis, is our son-in-law; that is how we got to know Cliff. He helped Patrick in renovating the old Turton home which Patrick and Becky purchased for their family home; also kindly helped with repairs at Bethany Gospel Mission Home in Hightstown. Although we did not see Cliff as often as we do other members of his family, our concern is just as sincere; we sense the loss of such a capable young man and share in your grief.
The 23rd Psalm reminds us: "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You (God) are with me."

Thank you all for sharing your condoleneces, thoughts, and memories about my dear brother Clifford...my family and I appreciate these more than words can express right now.
By now, Clifford has surely found his way to heaven safely and undoubtedly was greeted (regretably too soon) by his Mother, Father and Grandparents among many other loved ones. Cliff - give them all a kiss and hug for me.
I encourage anyone who knew Clifford to share your thoughts and memories here and celebrate Clifford's life together with everyone who visits. I know there's no shortage of great memories and funny stories!
Happy Hour in Heaven - one that I believe runs 24/7 - will never be the same now that Clifford has arrived - and he'll be sure to have the party in full swing when it's our turn to join him. Cheers Clifford. Love you brother.

I was lucky enough to see IB on the train and share an hour with him last month. I reminded me of what a truely extraordinary guy he was. His ability to commit, his true concern for others, his passion were evedient in in his unique actions we all saw or heard about. His lungs were messed up from his working on the pile at ground zero. Of course he was there, where else would he be but in the middle of the action? I will never forget seeing him challange Ray at the local union meeting and he resembled a soldier taking a hill as he turned around and shouted to the hall, "come on guys, this is our moment!", to the startled amazement of the entire body. Yea, he was unique but that is what makes life special. RIP my friend.

My candle burns at both its ends;
It will not last the night;
But oh, my foes, and oh, my friends,It gives a lovely light.

I first met Cliff on the Port Newark job. He was quite a character. He was getting bit by mosquitos so he poured some gas in the handhole and lit it [no wires yet]. I was passing in a truck across the port. Cliff was calling me on the radio. I was his foreman. I could see alot of heat waves rising. I said" Cliff whatever your doing over there;I don't want to know" Later I asked the apprentice what was up. He told me it was Cliff's mosquito killing program. He said he normally doesn't use that much gas. Oooookay. He used to say " I'm on FIRE brother''. He would get these bursts of energy and outwork the other guys. If he went into a manhole he would shovel out all the dirt and silt while other guys were standing around waiting for it to get drier. He was a good worker and funny as well. Travelers didn't know what to think off him. He kept them on their toes too. He lived up to his nickname. Most guys on that job called him I.B. He made work fun and I'll miss him. Good dude ,good union brother and one of a kind character for sure. Godspeed Ciff.

Cliff and I met 21 years ago when he joined Local 52.He was able to skip the 1st year and start in the 2nd of our 5th year apprenticeship class.He served 4 years in the U.S.Navy and had previous electrical experience.He was smart,happy,loud,wild,obnoxious,crazy,loved partying,loved horses,and a nice guy.What a story teller!!!!!! If all of the stories that he told were true,then Cliff had one hell of a life.We had some good times together during school and working together at Budweiser.He was one crazy S.O.B. He always greeted me with a smile and a handshake no matter how he felt,that's the way an Irishman should be.Cliff it was nice knowing you for the brief time we had together.Save me a seat at the pub in heaven.See you later,Pat
